People are busy, and money is short, and both especially around the holidays. There are parties to attend, presents to be bought, families to be enjoyed, and so on. During the holidays, the first two things to go are your diet and exercise. There is no time to get a workout in or eat healthy, and there isn’t a lot of extra money lying around to spend on a gym membership. As a result, you pack on a few extra pounds from eating bad and not working out.

Well, the good news is that it doesn’t have to be this way. Below is a simple workout that 1) doesn’t require a gym, 2) doesn’t require any equipment, and 3) can be done in about 45 minutes (you can’t tell me that you don’t have 45 minutes a few times a week; watch less TV). This workout will build muscles, blast fat, and keep you in shape all while saving you money and time. Here’s the workout:

Do the entire circuit 4 times:

  • 10 diamond pushups (hands close together and touching, forming a “diamond”)
  • 15 squats
  • Sprint 100 yards and jog back
  • 10 T-push ups (5 each arm)
  • 10 lunges each leg
  • Sprint 100 yards and jog back
  • 10 dips (if there is nothing high enough, a curb works great for this)
  • 10 squat jumps
  • Sprint 100 yards and jog back
  • 25 Russian Twists each side
  • 25 Bicycle cruch
  • 30 second plank
  • Rest 1 minute

Over the course of 4 circuits, you end up doing 80 (difficult) pushups, 60 squats, 80 lunges, 40 squat jumps, 40 dips, a ton of abs, and sprinting ¾ of a mile. You will sweat and work hard, but you will also get a fantastic workout that you can do anytime, anywhere. Don’t let the holidays hold you back from getting into the shape and getting the body you want!
